Each operation I perform after pregnancy has its own cost page. Every page states my surgical fee, what makes up the total with the anaesthetist and Maitland Private Hospital, and where Medicare and your health fund fit. Choose the page for the operation you are considering.

How the costs work
Every cost page follows the same structure, so the figures can be compared like for like.
Your total is made up of 3 separate accounts: my surgical fee, the anaesthetist’s fee and the Maitland Private Hospital fees for theatre and your stay. The anaesthetist and the hospital bill you directly and set their own charges, which is why each page states my fee as an exact figure and the total as an approximate figure.
Some operations after pregnancy have a Medicare item number. Where the criteria for that item are met, Medicare and your health fund contribute, no GST applies, and your out of pocket cost depends on the level of your hospital cover. Whether an item applies to you is assessed at consultation. Where no item number applies, the operation is cosmetic: there is no Medicare or health fund contribution, and 10% GST applies to the surgical, anaesthetist and hospital fees.
My fee covers the operation, a second consultation before surgery at no cost, and all follow-up appointments for the first 12 months. Compression garments and dressings are listed on each page where they apply.
What moves the quote is the extent of the operation, the time it takes and the number of nights in hospital. Each cost page names the components that change the figure for that operation, such as diastasis recti repair or hernia repair with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), or implants with mastopexy (breast lift).
A GP referral is required before consultation. You receive an individual written quote after your consultation, covering all 3 accounts.
