Hybrid Breast Augmentation (Augmentation Mammoplasty) with Fat Grafting Cost in Newcastle NSW
Hybrid breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) with fat grafting combines breast implants with your own fat. The fat is harvested by VASER liposuction (ultrasound assisted lipectomy), prepared, and grafted around the implant in the same operation. It is a cosmetic operation. No Medicare item applies to the least complex case, no health fund contribution applies, and 10% GST applies to every component.
My surgical fee starts at $10,450 including GST for the least complex case: normal BMI, round smooth silicone implants, fat harvested from the abdomen as the single donor site, day stay at Maitland Private Hospital, and no additional procedure. That is my fee only. The anaesthetist and Maitland Private Hospital bill separately and set their own charges, and the implants are a separate item on the hospital account. With those included, the total is approximately $24,000 including GST. Anatomical (teardrop) implants, implant brand, and a donor site other than the abdomen change the quote. Where an item number applies after assessment, the position changes; see below. You receive an individual written quote after consultation.

What my fee includes
My surgical fee covers the operation itself and the care around it, for both the breasts and the donor site.
A second consultation at no cost before surgery
Including review of your pre-operative blood results. This can be done remotely.
All follow-up
Close nurse and surgeon review over the first 2 weeks, then reviews at 4 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. The donor site is checked at each of these visits alongside the breasts.
LED light therapy (Healite II)
During the early post-operative reviews.
Comfeel dressings
Which are water resistant, so you can shower the day after surgery.
A surgical bra
Supplied for the recovery period.
A compression garment
For the abdominal donor site.
Handover to your GP
At the 4-week review, with my reviews continuing to 12 months.
Fat grafting is completed in the one operation. A second grafting session, if ever planned, is a separate operation with its own quote.
What makes up your total cost
My surgical fee
Covers the breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty), the VASER liposuction (ultrasound assisted lipectomy) harvest from the donor site, preparation of the fat, and the grafting, plus the follow-up listed above.
Anaesthetist’s fee
Billed separately. The anaesthetist charges on operating time, so the harvest and grafting time is part of this fee. The anaesthetic consultation is by phone in most cases.
Hospital and theatre fees at Maitland Private Hospital
Theatre time for the combined operation and the day stay. Billed by the hospital.
Breast implants
A separate item on the hospital account. Implant shape (round or anatomical) and brand change this component.
Donor site compression garment
No drains
for the least complex case.
Changes that move the quote:
- A donor site other than the abdomen, or more than one donor site
- Anatomical (teardrop) implants
- A mastopexy (breast lift) in the same operation, which is a different operation with its own page
- A higher BMI or a longer operating time for your anatomy
Medicare and health funds
For the least complex case there is no Medicare item and no health fund contribution. Item 45524 applies to breast augmentation (augmentation mammoplasty) only in specific circumstances, assessed at consultation. Where it applies, your health fund contribution depends on your policy.
When no item applies, 10% GST is charged on the surgical, anaesthetist and hospital fees, and the hospital charges a higher rate for cosmetic theatre time. Both are built into the figures above.
Breast implants are not lifetime devices. Future surgery to remove or replace them carries its own cost. Revision surgery, if ever needed, is charged depending on your insurance position; this is covered in the full cost guide.
