Indication for Surgery
Background: Female patient, 70 years old, with a history of large breasts (macromastia) causing significant discomfort, particularly over the past 10 years.
Symptoms: Chronic back pain, bra strap grooving, and recurrent rashes in the inframammary folds, which are more pronounced in warmer weather. Some relief is reported with massage, though an underlying ache persists.
Anthropometrics: E-cup sized breasts. Clinical examination noted right breast approximately one-third of a cup size larger than the left, contributing to asymmetry and further discomfort.
Age: 70 years old
Operation
Medial pedicle breast reduction (Reduction mammoplasty) using Wise pattern excision (inverted T scar) operation included VASER liposuction (Suction-assisted lipectomy)
Breast Tissue removed:
- Right side: 539 grams
- Left side: 474 grams
Fat (adipose tissue) removed with VASER liposuction (Suction-assisted lipectomy): 450 cc in total.
Total tissue removed: 1463 grams (1.5 kg)
